Building History

The Raymond Renaissance began with the restoration, renovation, and adaptation of the old Jensen Raymond Theatre into exciting commercial and creative workspace units. The addition of a new adjacent building completes the total Raymond Renaissance.

The existing historic building facade has undergone a complete renovation and restoration over the past year. All of the non-original materials have been removed. The original terra cotta has been restored and replicated where missing.

The bricks have been cleaned and returned to their original color. A new marquee will be replicated to match as closely as possible the photographs of the original marquee from l92l. The restoration is authentic and truly beautiful.

The historic interior walls and ceiling of the theatre auditorium will be renovated and restored to their original beauty. The addition of l2 skylights brings light and air to the 5-story atrium. The restored building will have l retail space, l0 lofts, 5 commercial and 4 creative workspace units. The newly constructed attached 6-story building has a brick & stone facade with a copper detailed roof and granite wainscot at street level.

The building is comprised of two ground floor retail spaces, fronting on Raymond Avenue and Holly Street. There will be 4 floors of one- & two-bedroom condominiums for a total of 28 units. All of these units will have balconies facing the street and/or interior patios.

Residents' parking is provided behind the retail units, in the basement of both buildings and on the second level of the new building. All entry to the parking area is accessible from Electric Alley. Pedestrian entry into the residential units of The Raymond Renaissance is on Raymond Avenue under a new glass-covered entryway.
